/ Absorption (Elegy to the Black Matter)

I am here, now. Made from all of those sleepless nights, countless cigarettes, short breaths. If I want it or not, you’re a part of me. We changed, we merged. You absorbed me, I absorbed you. It didn’t happen over the night - we were slowly becoming one, second after second, day after day, year after year.

First, I believed that I could just make you disappear. Like it didn’t happen. Now I know that when I look in the mirror I see us - one being. I see your parts and wear them like badges, proudly, on my body, my face, in my mind.

„Absorption” is a self-portrait, printed on paper and then slowly covered with black paint, using a small brush, in an intuitive process.
